1930s vintage silk crepe kimono robe
Juban kimono- a traditional shorter length kimono that was worn close to the body
Juban is usually brightly colored and made of silk or cotton (the colors are meant for good luck and to ward off evil spirits)
the collar is often (silk or muslin cotton) white and may have many layers of fabric that has been sewn over the collar throughout the years
the perfect length for lounging, falls just at the floor for shorter gals and a little above for taller!
perfect for use as robe, jacket or lounging lingerie

great vintage condition- the muslin collar shows wear, as expected, some linear staining on the kimono sleeves from storage, one side stain on hip- this kimono presents as excellent- last photo

This particular vermillion orange Juban is from the 1930s with an Art Decp print, large flowers and floating spheres of Shibori print. The overall floral pattern has very light cream, yellow and lilac colors against black accents.
