Juban kimono- a traditional shorter length kimono, made to wear closer to the skin, under the longer kimono. A perfect length and use for modern day.

Juban is usually brightly colored and made of silk or cotton (the colors are meant for good luck and to ward off evil spirits)

THIS particular red Nagajuban is a bright red vermillion silk , an older silk and harder to find. Layers of thin cool silk make up this kimono, extremely soft wearing and wonderful.
A large flying Bird (crane) and floral bouquet pattern of flowers in the silk are chrysanthemum, two of Japan's classic floral motifs.

White Tailor's thread (or tailor's floss) is still attached around the seam lines, these are to be removed if purchasing for wearing, I suggest leaving the thread if collecting.
